2014 Horse Show Photos

On Saturday, May 31, 2014, Xenophon held its annual horse show. What a day it was! The weather was beautiful, our riders were spectacular and the horses were perfect. A huge number of family and friends turned out to watch the classes. We saw a wonderful opening ceremony, with a lovely rendition of the national anthem sung by Susan Fleming. There were vaulting classes, novice and advanced trail courses, beginning dressage and more. The smiles of our riders, and the achievements they demonstrated made the day truly special. Melissa Maker, a Xenophon instructor did a wonderful dressage demonstration on Dandie, exhibiting her talents outside of being a therapy horse. Mari Parino, our Executive Director, showed the versatility of the Friesian breed, with a driving demonstration with WimB, who also works in the program. A big thank you goes out to Xenophon’s Board of Directors and their spouses who provided and cooked a great BBQ lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs. Thank you, also, to Phillips 66 for the use of their trailer BBQ. The center’s small Weber grill could not have handled the 180 hamburgers and 50+ hot dogs that were served. Thank you to our staff for putting on such a wonderful event.
